1. Pawtuckaway State Park in Manchester, NH

Pawtuckaway State Park is located in southern New Hampshire. Likewise, it is one of the state parks in New Hampshire with camping grounds. The park is very close to Manchester and Concord cities near the seacoast beaches. Hence, the park is a good place to have a good time with your family. The park has 192 campsites, and each site has views of the lake with a nice swimming beach. You can equally rent a kayak and canoe to sail through the lake in the park. Other things that you will enjoy in the Pawtuckaway State Park are hiking, where you can see a mountaintop fire tower, great blue herons, and a geologically unique field.

2. White Lake State Park in Tamworth, NH

NH campgrounds on lakes are not common except the White Lake State Park. White Lake is one of the biggest campgrounds in White Mountains NH and the only one on a lake with a swimming beach. The 203 campsites are spread among thick pine trees along White Lake's edge. Many of the sites have views of the lake. You may route around the lake to observe beaver homes and possibly sight loons or hire boats for fishing at the campsite.

Although the beach and a picnic area are available to the public, daily visitor numbers are limited to prevent the park from becoming overcrowded. Youth groups have access to a few bigger New Hampshire campgrounds.

3. Lafayette Place Campground

Lafayette Place Campground is part of Franconia Notch State Park, located in the heart of one of New Hampshire's two most scenic notches. It's an ideal base for hiking and exploring the White Mountains' many natural wonders.

A recreational trail for cyclists, wonderful lakes, the New England Ski Museum, and the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway, with many waterfalls, is all found in the eight-mile valley between the high peaks of the Kinsman and Franconia mountain ranges.

4. Jigger Johnson and Blackberry Crossing

Inside the White Mountain National Forest, these two campsites are New Hampshire camping grounds and they are six miles apart along the Kancamagus Scenic Byway. Each huge tent site is properly spaced, cut from deep second-growth woodland along the Swift River's banks.

Trails to Mt. Chocorua and several other peaks and a trail to the beautiful Sabbaday Falls are all close to the campgrounds in New Hampshire. Jigger Johnson is connected to the Russell-Colbath Historic Site by a short trail, and Blackberry Crossing is only a short distance from the Albany Covered Bridge. However, Jigger Johnson is much larger, with 74 tent and RV sites and more facilities than Blackberry Crossing, which has hand pumps for water delivery.

The park doesn’t accept reservations. All the campsites accept first-come, first-served.

5. Bear Brook State Park

Bear Brook is New Hampshire's most developed state park, located between the cities of Manchester and Concord and ideal for individuals who want to combine outdoor activities with more urban holiday activities. It has 101 campsites in Beaver Pond's woods, with canoes and boats for hire.

There's a camp shop, showers, laundry, a dumping station for RVs, and ice and firewood. Trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding are available in the park. Another site you will enjoy in the park is the presence of the Richard Diehl Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Museum, which is part of complete CCC camps in the country.

6. Lost River Campground in Woodstock, NH

Despite being a privately owned campsite, Lost River Valley is bordered by the White Mountain National Forest. You can place this campground as a “private campground near me” when deciding on where to camp. It is close to significant tourist sites such as Lost River Gorge, the Kancamagus Scenic Byway, and the other vistas in Franconia Notch. The 125 riverfront campsites are nicely spaced and forest-screened, with some RV connections and lovely camping cottages.

The campground is lively, and children will love to be there because of its many activities. Part of the things you will enjoy while staying in Lost River Valley includes a playground where you can play volleyball, tennis, basketball, and other games. Likewise, you can rent a kayak and paddleboat to move around the lake.
